What drives the decision for a bill to be considered in Congress/Senate? WHY can't we pitch SKIL or TALENT Bills as a means to separate legal immigration from the ongoing CIR debate?
If politicians are introducing these bills, they should be willing to back them up separtely instead of saying that these come into picture only if CIR fails. Or is the introduction of other bills a sign of CIR's imminent failure? Since the top IV team has the visibility with politicians, this hypocrisy should be resolvable. Please tell us why these bills cannot be taken up while CIR is pending? Isn't that what the lobbying company is supposed to help us with?
No one is prepared to jeopardize their political careers over 12 million illegal immigrants. Thought I have said in my earlier posts that we cannot alienate ourselves from the illegal issue I think we need to take the next step and start to contact the senators who have introduced and backed the SKIL, PACE and TALENT act to see if this can be pushed through senate and congress as seperate bills.

Once we reach the number of resources, we will have conference calls, meet in person whoever can, arrange for money, decide on lawyers ( which MadhuVJ has some very good suggestions ) and move on from there
We are doing it brothers and sisters.

Why SKULL bill ? As a high level manager I have learned after years of experience that you need to use good sense of humor, satirize when confronted with insanities and very stressful situations.

Question for the organizers: If we just concentrate on the visa recapture bill, is that not a one shot solution for all issues. Because as per a very respected lawyer, that will make all EB categories current and will stay there for at least 2 more years.

How many such cases are with uscis? And what happens to the one you filed for yourself?
During July 07, i know some of the couples did apply twice once a primary and other as dependent on the other. In July 07, wife and i did not take that approach and had separate applications. In August 08, i applied for my second 485 as her dependent since i would have to wait a decade to get gc through my application. For now, my other application shows under review. Once i get GC in my hands, then i will ask my compnay lawyer if there is a need for withdrawing my other application.

I actually got this input of contacting congressman to implement this change, from USCIS only(their blog). I will also contact the ones mentioned in your posting. I also request all EB folks affected by this spillover usage not based on priority date, to contact them in addition to their local congressman. Let's not leave any stone unturned to make this happen, to help us all out. If this happens soon to create an impact, we may see some light in the upcoming bulletins. I do understand that our biggest goal is to reduce backlog. With due respect to your opinion, i suggest that we restrict to july fiasco first and then when we get enough traction with this issue, we can then focus on larger issues like backlog reduction etc.
Now that each one of us breathing hot and cold about july error, we better trade on that line.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.
Please remember: By law, every person who is not a U.S. citizen and who is over the age of 14 must also notify the Department of Homeland Security within 10 days from when they move (persons in "A" or "G" nonimmigrant status are exempt from this requirement). If you have moved, please complete a Form AR-11 and mail it to the address shown on that form. If you do not have this form, you can download it from our website or you can call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 and we can order one for you. If you move, please call us with your new address information as soon as your move is complete. If you have already called us and given us this information, you do not need to call again.

With recapture, with country cap removal, with any other fixes that you can think of until you are not feeding yourself from my plate
Excluding dependents is the most powerful and least controversial and most unifying way to clear the entire backlog in 2 - 3 years time. This way no EB2-EB3, I/C/ROW we will all be green.
