This is great but not at all enough, If major news and print media does not cover this, than this effort will go waste. If it gets unreported, than we have ourselves to blame. The whole point is for this to get covered nationally. Your local news and print media needs to be made aware, if it gets printed enough times, it will be picked up in major news channels. So please email the story, make the reporters aware of this. I know, we have a lot of us that we can write, copy paste the same message. I have a feeling it is going to make a great news story, just want to be doubly sure.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION of contacting state chapter heads. State chapter heads are not your personal lackeys. They are members who receive instructions from the IV core team to take on initiatives.

Folks have you noticed the options on dice when you have to fill up your profile. makes you choose if you are EAD or GC or Citizen or h1b or any other. Now, does it not create a situation where employers can filter you?
In all other websites like Monster, hotjobs etc... the choices are
(1) Authorized to work for any employer
(2) Authorized to work for currrent employer

which makes more sense.

I had been in US for 6 years and has a PD of October 2006, that means i have to wait a long time to get my GC. but i got my back up plans prepared. It tends to irriate me but the only way to solve is to get involved in some kind of activity. I would suggest get involved in IV. Atleast you will feel much better that you are helping a community that lead you to get your GC soon.

Yes, I do have an update. See my posting the Lawsuit thread.
Note:
This Lawsuit Idea is on hold for the following reasons:
a) Not enough interest in the affected parties
b) Cost of the litigation would be upwards of around 30K
c) The counsel has recommended to hold discussions with USCIS official first and give them sufficient time to respond to our concerns.

Dear friends we are all in this long and arduous journey together! So let�s channelize and focus our energies to achieve our goals & not scoring goals / points over each other. Iam new to this forum. I see this as an excellent place to get information and hear different points of view. I highly respect comments / suggestions from other members, I know this journey has taken a toll on everybody, however cheer up and never loose hope, each one of us will have our day, persistence and hard work always pays, merit must rule and may it overrule ! 3) Copy of "Employment Letter" submitted for 485
4) Copy of certified labor
5) Copy of approved I-140
6) Original 485 receipt and original receipts of AP and EAD if applicable
7) Original pay stubs for this 181 days period
Bad Relations with X

Documents to be asked for:

All above. Copy of I-140 approval (Or just LIN/SRC No would do too),
Labor certification number and copy of 485 receipts ARE MUST.
Paystubs anyway you will get. In case if "employment letter" is not
given then try to take "Reference letter" from Y which depicts you
were working as a X's consultant with title "Job description --matching
Job Code" from this period to this period (Last day of your 181st day)
Things to be taken care of at Z side:

No pun intended here. But I was a fresher too at some point of time in my life!!!. Didn't mean to offended anyone. Anyway, I think this is a pointless discussion. Congress is going to do what they want to do. I just wanted to putforth my thoughts in my previous message.
Also, I would think I would benefit from any law they pass pertaining to EB.
I just dont understand the logic that If these "kids" get off the queue how will I get it. If the kids get out in a year i may have to wait another 2+ years to get a GC. I really dont see how having US degree in their hands helps. Let me take my example I was hired 3 years after college directly from my country from an multi-billion dollar market cap company from here. I quit that in 3 years and joined some other company that is a different thing.
And as far as studying here that is your problem if you want to spend money and study. As far as being helpful to US I have paid a lot more in terms of Taxes and other things than someone who has 3 years and mostly studied here on assitantships. And also being a hiring manager for the company have hired may US citizens as well.
Im not trying to create a division here. All I'm trying to say is that everyone needs to be helped not just only with Masters degrees.

INA specifically has the language for counting all immigrants (including spouses and children) towards numerical limits, and, we have been working to include provisions to eliminate counting depents towards numerical limits. Doing such extra effort as mentioned in the first post of the thread is not going to be helpful. When there is a bill we should be pushing towards not counting dependents and it is more straightforward. That will take care of the backlog issues to some extent. Admin fixes do not change laws, so admin fix for this is not possible as some suggested
