That said, lets all go back to faxing, calling our representatives and put an end top this retrogression.

unfortunately more than 80% of backlog elemination is completed, so labor substitution even though it is removed from july 16 has already done its damage. scores of people have already done labor substitution.
How come they did not stop the substitution right away? Instead, giving it another month. Wish they gave the visa bulletin another month.

I am enraged.
We Indians deserve to be waiting forever without Greencard.
This is why EB3 Indiots will be waiting forever for their greencard. We Indians come to USA and still behave like the pictures in these links. We throw sh** on the forum and criticize each other. As long as Indians fight with each no bill will ever come. Indiots are to be blamed for waiting forever. Do not blame Amercia. We brought dirt from India and still live in it on this forum. Its pathetic.

I am a 2 July 2007 filer. Many SR's and calls later no FP.But I applied for EAD and AP renewal last week.I got the FP notice in mail today.
So I think that the renewal may trigger a FP notice.

I think you will get in less than 2 years. It will not take 10 years. Hang on. Total GC process time from applying to labor to getting GC usually is 4 years. some unlucky people had to wait more than that. But more than 80% fall in to 4 year time line.
but some were lucky people got it quickly because they could cut lines.
Thats not true. My PD is March 2005. When my PD comes, I have to apply for EAD whereas others will get GC. Oh such a screwed up system.

Thanks !
I pledge $100 for this cause also.
Would also like to thank Gopal (gsc999) for getting all the banners done and helping a lot in organizing the SJ rally.Kudos to all Noble souls in the IV Core. I think what IV has acheived is amazing and unprecedented. Also money is too small to repay all the hours and work you guys have put in.
I am sure God will bless all of you with a timely GC :). Best Wishes again.

I got a response from Tier2 officer that there are no Visa numbers available. She was pretty pissed that there hell a lot of indians calling and was close to making it racial. She read from a report that DOS sent to USCIS (page 31 is what she quoted) where she said there are no Visa numbers available. I am assuming its for this month.
Did you call TSC or NSC.

I opened a SR for non receipt of my FP notice, on 30Oct2007. I got a reply from USCIS exactly after 45 days ( very prompt) notifying me that " my FP has not yet expired or my FP is not yet cleared". Certainly this looks like a canned reply from USCIS which was sent even without looking at my file. I guess they should be more transparent in their process than just sending plain lies.

it's not mine case. Clockwork reported some LUD for I140 some where. May be Aug 5? Not sure. But I think LUD of I140 doesn't matter. This is my personal opinion.
Oh ok...thanks anyways...
P.S I have also read that LUD is not an indication of anything related..but at this point, its been almost 2 months since the application was sent to attorney and absolutely no updates..so I am grasping at straws...:o

I agree with kshitijnt that you need past employer more than you need client. In my case I had received 485 query to supply some my employment related docs ( whether that I am working with responser or working with someone else, letter from company showing my current position, sal. etc). Since I didn't change my employer, it was very easy and quick to get such documents from current employer. Imagine if I would have switched on EAD then I would have to chase my past employer for letters, paystubs etc and by the I would got them from past employer,I faced the risk of PD moving back.
Your case is different becasue you filed your I-485 with them. Here he has not started 485 at all.I don't know how he can maintain good relation with them. Some employer are too torugh to deal and same goes with some employees too.

sparklinks - I got card production ordered email today and LUD on EAD cases online. I sent a request for inquiry thru immigration staff of my Senator (Sen. Kennedy - MA) three days ago. Not sure if that had any role to play in EAD approval.
Check your status and update as our cases were identical. I'll update details of duration of EAD renewal when I get physical cards.
Good luck.
Congrats !!! and can you please give me the details how to contact Sen. Kennedy - MA

It takes 90 days MINIMUM to get EAD? I've heard that it takes at most 90 days to get EAD. Does anyone know?
used to be at most 90 days. If not u could have gone to ur local office and get temp EAD. It changed no more temp EAD. You r at the mercy of USCIS.

here's a writeup for reporters.
"One the Eve of July 4th, US Rejects Permanent Residency Applications of Law-Abiding, Tax-Paying, High-Skilled Legal Immigrants Including Doctors, Scientists and Engineers"
Justice, freedom, equal opportunity and meritocracy are the pillars on which modern America is built upon. This country has opened its doors with a warm smile and a big heart for every hard working, highly-skilled legal immigrant who has one common thing more than anything else with every American the American dream. Andy Grove of Intel, Sergey Brin of Google, Vinodh Khosla of Sun Microsystems are excellent examples of people who migrated to the US for higher education and then went on to found billion-dollar companies that employs thousands of Americans.
Everyday pressures at work, paying for mortgage, taking care of children are challenges that every working American goes through. But little is known about the silent pain and anxiety of high-skilled, tax-paying, law-abiding doctors, engineers and scientists who have to constantly keep track of their position in the "queue" to obtain their permanent residency status, more commonly the 'green card', as a first step towards calling America their home. Sometimes, the wait in the line can last as long as ten years. The wait comes with several restrictions like being bound to the particular job position with the sponsoring employer for as many years, foregoing promotions and inability to change jobs at will work conditions unimaginable for an average American employee.
Sometimes the position in the long queue moves forward, when even a small movement causing immense joy and anticipation among the employees while sometimes the position moves backwards causing the employee to endure further pain. Historically the US government has opened the doors for the final stage of the green card application (where the applicant can adjust or change their status from any current non-immigrant status to a permanent resident status) every 3 years or so for a small window of time that typically lasts 30 -60 days. On June 13 th 2007 when the US government announced that July 2nd 2007 was the beginning of the one such window of time, the news sent thousands of prospective applicants into a tizzy mixed with relief, anticipation and joy. Many spent thousands of dollars in preparing required documentation, lawyer fee and canceling travel arrangements, to get their applications in on the first day itself.
Alas! With a hitherto unprecedented action, on the morning of July 2nd 2007, the same US government agency, with a terse and nondescript press release went back on its promise and slammed its door shut for any green card application. This action is clearly condemnable, unacceptable and unfair to thousands of high-skilled employees who contribute positively towards strengthening the US economy. Many feel wounded at the inhumane treatment in the hands of US immigration department and are contemplating migrating back to their homeland or to more immigrant friendly countries. However, a strong majority still trusts the US government to implement meaningful reforms specifically targeting legal immigrants while they continue to endure untold sufferings.

Michael Moore reported about the poor conditions in which our veterans at Walter Reed hospital are treated in his famous movie Farienhiet 911 and after three years Walter Reed hospital caught the attention of the law makers, they don't treat thier own countrymen with respect and dignity even after serving the Nation honourably what can we expect from them when it took them three years to realise that the conditions are bad in Walter Reed.
